A Tribute to Yinka Ogunde

It is with deep respect and heartfelt gratitude that we honour the life and legacy of Yinka Ogunde—a woman whose unwavering commitment to education, equity, and social justice continues to shape the values of our school community.

Yinka Ogunde stood firmly for what she believed in: that education is not a privilege for a few, but a right for all. Her passion for tackling inequality was not expressed in words alone, but in consistent, purposeful action. She understood that the classroom is one of the most powerful spaces for transformation, and she dedicated herself to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, had the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to thrive.

A visionary in her own right, she recognised early the growing importance of digital access in shaping life chances. Through her work with the Concerned Parents and Educators (CPE), she championed digital inclusion with a rare blend of top-down influence and bottom-up engagement. She advocated at leadership and community levels while remaining deeply connected to the everyday realities of families—ensuring that access to technology, information, and opportunity was not left to chance.

Her work reflected a deep belief in fairness, dignity, and possibility. She challenged systemic barriers while also empowering individuals and communities to rise above them. Through her efforts, many were not only educated, but equipped—with the tools, confidence, and awareness needed to navigate an increasingly digital world.

Beyond her contributions, Yinka Ogunde will be remembered for her strength of character, her clarity of purpose, and her enduring care for others. She inspired those around her not just through what she did, but through how she lived—with integrity, compassion, and quiet determination.

As a school, we are proud to carry forward the spirit of her work. Her legacy lives on in every pupil encouraged to aim higher, every barrier challenged, and every opportunity created.

We honour her. We remember her. And we remain committed to the values she stood for.

Yinka Ogunde’s impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.
